Here's another segment I plan to introduce which is primarily about specific bands or songs in particular that hold a great interest to inspire vivid imagery and can help with the writing process.
Today's inspirational music is: Symphony X
I first stumbled onto Symphony X around 2001 or so. What started as a mild interest soon expanded into a grand love for their music. I have listened to the albums: Divine Wings of Tragedy, Twilight on Olympus, V: The New Mythology, The Odyssey, and Paradise Lost.
Every album has it's own unique style and theme. Though the theme itself is not entirely devoted to the album.
Symphony X can best be described as a combination of Rock, Orchestra, and Mythological Lyrics.
The majority of their songs revolve around Greek mythology. A couple of examples would be The Odyssey song itself, which totals a staggering 24 minutes or so. Others would be The Eyes of Medusa, Orion: The Hunter, among others.
Each song has great inspiration as any lover of rock, orchestra, or even mythology would enjoy, and I have found Symphony X to be a great band to use for inspiration.
